Training and Competition Schedule
Below is a schedule outline to describe five training cycles and our competition schedule.
Offseason Training 6/1-8/31
Training is focused on developing new moves and having fun; however, this is also meant to help wrestlers jump levels by working when most are taking time off. During this time we will have guest clinicians and new practice partners. The goals of this phase is to keep developing while keeping training fresh and fun.
Folkstyle Regular Season 11/1-1/31
This training phase is geared towards competition, practice plans are meant to address mistakes made in tournaments.
Freestyle and Greco Season 4/10- 6/1
Olympic style season! Training for Greco and Freestyle is a change of pace as they are fun dynamic styles that build new skills. We will prepare for local, state, and national tourneys in this season.
Preseason Training 9/1-11/1
Training is still about development and is less serious but we are preparing for folkstyle tournament season.
Championship Season 2/1-4/10
This time of the year is championship season for folkstyle wrestling, as much as we focus on development we are looking to peak performance for State and National tournaments.
